LA RABBIA DI SATANA
Cominciamo a percorrere il CAI 50 GEA verso la cima del Monte Calvano (1254 m). Inizialmente il sentiero presenta una salita leggera. Prima di entrare nel bosco voltiamoci indietro. La Penna, così si chiama la cima del Monte della Verna, ci sovrasta. In basso tra la vegetazione distinguiamo la croce di legno a cui siamo appena passati accanto. Sul fianco del monte distinguiamo un ammasso roccioso privo di vegetazione: è il così detto Calcio del Diavolo. Si narra che Satana, arrabbiatissimo perché non riusciva a indurre in tentazione San Francesco mentre si trovava in penitenza alla Verna, abbia scagliato un grande calcio in questo punto del monte. Le rocce che vediamo oggi sono la “ferita” che gli provocò. We begin to walk the CAI 50 GEA towards the top of Monte Calvano (1254 m). Initially the path has a slight climb.
