The Castle of Romena with its unmistakable towers seen from the female monastery of the Madonna della Neve and San Domenico located on the Colle di San Donato, near Pratovecchio, to the left of the Arno. This modern place of faith has been active since 2016 and has replaced the sixteenth-century monastery that was located in Piazza Jacopo Landino in Pratovecchio. In addition to being a reference for spirituality in the Casentino, it is also one of the most important places of art in the valley. Here, in fact, a large exhibition was held with works ranging from the fifteenth to the twentieth century (box in the photo). In the Dominican monastery there is also a guesthouse to accommodate those who intend to practice religious tourism. In addition, the nuns have resumed an ancient activity typical of monasteries: the apothecary. They make perfumes, body creams, soaps and more.
