Florence: Piazza Santa Croce and the homonymous cathedral that was destined, from the beginning, to the Franciscan Order. This church is one of the best known examples of Gothic style in Italy. Its construction began at the end of the 13th century and lasted for around ninety years. This Tuscan city, which is the capital of the Italian Renaissance, can be reached from the Casentino on average within an hour by car.
