UN'ARCHITETTURA CHE NON SPRECA SPAZIO
Caratteristica architettonica comune nei piccoli ed antichi borghi del Pratomagno sono gli stretti vicoli che li percorrono. Anche a Carda è così. D'altronde quando questi centri sorsero e poi, lentamente, si svilupparono, non si pensava certamente che un giorno sarebbero arrivate le automobili. Così, quando c'era spazio per passare a piedi, con un cavallo, un asino o qualche pecora era sufficiente. Quasi sempre si costruiva in spazi limitatissimi e anche pochi centimetri guadagnati a favore delle abitazioni erano preziosi. In questo caso, così come nella foto della pagina precedente, si pensò bene di sfruttare anche lo spazio sopra il vicolo.
A common architectural feature in the small and ancient villages of Pratomagno are the narrow alleys that run through them. This is also true in Carda. After all, when these centers arose and then slowly developed, it was certainly not thought that one day cars would arrive. So, when there was space to pass on foot, with a horse, a donkey or a few sheep it was enough. Almost always, buildings were built in very limited spaces and even a few centimeters gained in favor of housing were precious. In this case, as in the photo on the previous page, it was thought a good idea to also exploit the space above the alley.
