Pilgrims Crossing Border on the Apennines Tosco-romagnolo
Saturday 26th September 2015 the peace’s initiative “Pilgrims Crossing Borders” passed from Romagna to Tuscany, going through the ancient Serra Path, located on the Romea di Stade Road or Romea Germanica Road.
This kind of relay of pilgrims coming from all around the world, and formed by the three big monotheistic religions(Cristians, Jews and Muslims) departed from the Cathedral of Trondheim (Norway) the 22nd of April to reach Rome, after ca. 3000 kilometers, the 14th of October 2015. The message of the “Pilgrims Crossing Borders” is simple and clear: you can walk together for the peace, without national nor religious frontiers. This pilgrimage follows what the pilgrims in the middle age used to do, when from Germany they’d reach the Popes City, using the Romea di Stade road, so called because it was walked by and described from the Monk Alberto dell’Abbazia di Stade, around the half of the XIII century. “Pilgrims Crossing Borders” was presented to Rome on the October of 2014.
In this web section, it is shown and described, through 54 pictures with captions, the path of these 6 pilgrims (for the moment) constantly followed by 2 guides, and at this stage from many followers from Romagna and Tuscany, during the crossing of the Apennine on his highest point. From the Nasseto gullies, to the little mountain village of Serra, where they received a warm welcome.
